Strengthen public -private networking through providing solutions from HEIs and PRIs to industry;

Increase productivity through innovation or appropriate technology; and

Encourage the participation of researchers to provide solutions based on industry demand

Project Application Conditions and Criteria
    1. Open to Companies and Businesses registered with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) while Businesses in Sabah and Sarawak need to be registered with the Local Authority.
    2. Annual sales value exceeding RM100,000 (with proof of the company's latest 6 months bank statement - Business or audited statement of accounts for 3 years - Sdn Bhd);
    3. The company must:
      1. registered with any agency or platform that evaluates the performance of companies such as SME Corporation Malaysia (SME Corp), Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Berhad (PUNB), Malaysian Technology Development Corporation (MTDC), Malaysian Institute of Standards and Industrial Research (SIRIM), Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT) or other equivalent agencies; or
      2. Being in the category of competitive and viable Companies (refer to Appendix C in the PPRN Implementation Guidelines);
    4. The company must have a business premises registered with the Local Authority or an Incubator Center registered with the agency;
    5. The company must be in operation for at least 1 year;
    6. Majority ownership by Malaysians (> 50%); and
    7. Products/services to be improved/added value under the PPRN Initiative must be on the market/offered for at least a year.

    1. Applications are open to all IPT and PRI researchers;
    2. The lead researcher is a permanent employee while the researcher is a permanent or contract employee in IPT and PRI;
    3. The term of service of the chief researcher and researchers shall be at least 24 months remaining from the date of commencement of the project
    4. The lead researcher must be a Malaysia citizen;
    5. Researchers need to have expertise, skills or knowledge in the project applied for;
    6. The lead researcher is not on study leave/ sabbatical/ continuing studies/ industrial training or equivalent;
    7. Researchers can only lead one (1) project or be a member for one (1) project at a time. A special application must be made to the MOE for the approval of the PPRN Technical Evaluation Committee if the researcher wants to lead or be a member of more than one (1) project at a time;
    8. Researchers who lead or are members of a project that is still in implementation, are not allowed to apply for a new project until the project status letter is issued by the MOE; and
    9. Researchers who have been blacklisted cannot apply for PPRN projects until the suspension period ends.
